For several years, I've been telling a close group of friends that I have a dream I want to manifest in the coming years.

I've been playing it rather close to my chest, because I wanted to have some time to really imagine how I'll feel when it comes true, with the help of many other people who choose to share at least a part of my dream.

I won't talk about it here, much, because I set up a new space for it on Apsense.

If you want, you can read about it at What's your dream?

If you are interested in learning more about this or if you want to share your own dream, you are invited to join Apsense (it's free) and come join my Act On Your Dream! group.

I look forward to sharing our dreams and finding ways we can help each other make them come true.

Act on your dream!

After a very long hiatus, while I was trying to decide on a new approach, I have published the latest issue of the Act On Your Dream! newsletter.

It is archived at Act On Your Dream! -- Issue #6 -- Getting back on track

If you would like, you can subscribe to Act On Your Dream to get the next issues when they are published.

I intend to publish the newsletter on a regular basis, probably twice a month, and I want to feature you and what you are doing to act on your dream.

What can we do to help each other find the success and freedom we all want?

Act on your dream!

This is my final reminder of the Site Build It! Buy-one-get-one-free special sale. SBI is a bargain at any time. Until midnight on January 3, 2006, it is an extra-special bargain.

If you're not ready to buy your SBI site, you may be interested in reading the book that started it all. Make Your Site Sell! is an ebook with over 1000 pages of outstanding information. It is by far the best $30 I first invested in my online marketing business. After buying MYSS, studying it, and putting what I learned into action, I finally started earning money through affiliate marketing.

So far, the only better investment has been Site Build It!. I use the SBI method, tools, and resources every day as I expand my network of websites, blogs, forums, and lenses, even on sites hosted elsewhere.

You're probably not interested in building a network of sites. I don't blame you a bit. If my brain were wired differently and I could concentrate on just one topic, I'd probably be much better off, but it's not the way I am.

If you have a particular subject in which you are interested, SBI offers a step-by-step method to identify your niche, build your site, and eventually monetize it. It will save you time, energy, and money, and you will have a better site with a better chance of earning a decent income with it. You may not be able to replace a full-time job, but perhaps you can earn a few hundred dollars per month with it.

I highly recommend Site Build It! and I'll be developing more SBI sites later this year.

Don't miss this special sale. Share the purchase with a friend. You keep one site and sell the other to your friend. Each of you can get your own site for half-price until tomorrow night.

Or, buy one and give one away. Or, keep both for yourself. You don't have to activate the second site for several months.

If you do this now, where can you be a year from now?

The Site Build It! 2 for 1 sale has been extended from December 25, 2005 until midnight on January 3, 2006.

Why would you want to buy one website and get one free?

There are lots of reasons.

You have two sites you want to build. Pay for one, build both.

You want to help your children learn to build a successful web business. Buy one and keep it for yourself and give one to a child, or give both to children. Teach them how to set a goal and follow it to success. SBI's step-by-step action guide will take them through the details of researching and building a real website. You can advise and mentor them as they progress.

You want to give a friend or business colleague a chance to build that home business they've been talking about for so long. A gift of SBI gives them the best chance to make it happen.

Buy one for a spouse or sibling, keep one for yourself.

Perhaps you know someone who wants an SBI site. You can pay for one site, get two, and sell one to your friend at half-price. Each of you gets a full year at half-price. What a deal!

Whatever you decide to do with the second one, you have until midnight on January 3, 2006 to make your purchase. Don't miss this extended deadline.

Do you have a dream you want to achieve?

Where will you be a year from now if you don't act on your dream?

If you have a dream, isn't now the perfect time to act on your dream? Is $300 too much to invest in working to achieve your dream? What can you build in a year? Where will you be a year from now if you act on your dream?

(Asheville, North Carolina) (Context Tag: , )

Almost one year ago, they began coming together, a group of women who wanted to create positive change for women and girls in western North Carolina.

They formed Women for Women and now have more than $185,000 to grant in the coming months to nonprofit organizations and public agencies that serve women in crisis. Grants from $30,000 to $100,000 are available, and the deadline to apply is Friday, February 3, 2006.

To date, 188 women have become members of Women for Women, a special initiative of the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina that encourages women's philanthropy. Each member contributes $1,100 per year for three years, then together they learn about pressing needs facing women throughout the region and determine how to direct their funds.

During the first year of grantmaking, the membership decided to award grants to organizations that are helping economically disadvantaged women rebuild their lives and be more self-sufficient.

"We are looking for applicants that can supply safety net programs to prevent setbacks for women such as homelessness, joblessness, and hunger," said Carol Minton, chair of the grants committee. "We plan to fund groups that work cooperatively with others, address causes rather than symptoms, and make a lasting impact."

To be eligible for consideration, a nonprofit organization or public agency must meet specific guidelines and serve one or more of the 18 counties in the western North Carolina region.

To apply for a grant or become a member of Women for Women, visit Community Foundation of Western North Carolina or call 828-254-4960.

I've created several forums with the goal of helping you help others.

What are you or your group doing to help others in 2006?

I've written a short article about this at:

We succeed by helping each other succeed

Who in your community is working to make your town a better place in which to live? With whom are you volunteering?

What are the group's goals and how are they working to achieve those goals?

If they have an online presence (website, blog, mailing list, news group, or forum) tell us about it.

I welcome your input, comments and thoughts on how we can work together to help each other succeed.

All the best,

JD

I don't agree that success requires previous failure, but I do agree that it often happens that way and we can't let failure stop us before we achieve our goal.

I agree that goals should be written and placed where you can see them. Additionally, I have learned that you can program your subconscious by reading those goals out loud whenever you are working to achieve them.

We have been programmed since birth, and our subconscious often sets the direction of our life when we are too young to have much say in the matter. Fortunately, we can reprogram our subconscious and train it to work to help us rather than hindering us.

Visualization is one important part of this process.

When you set a goal, write it down, and then read it out loud. Does it sound as good when you hear yourself say it?

Now, take a few minutes, close your eyes, and imagine your life after you have made this goal real. How does it change you? How does it change your relationships with those most important to you? Will your life be better or worse as a consequence of not only achieving the goal, but also as a result of what you must do in the process of achieving it?

Now, before you set your life on the path to achieving that goal, you have the opportunity to decide if the path is good or bad for you.

If you decide that it is worth the effort to walk the pathway to that particular new life, then don't let any obstacle force you off your chosen path in life. Keep your eye on the goal. Read it every time you work on it. Read it so you -- and your subconscious -- can hear it. Be your own voice of authority. Program yourself to succeed and to reach that goal.

"TRULY, 'thoughts are things,' and powerful things at that, when they are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a BURNING DESIRE for their translation into riches, or other material objects."

That is how Napoleon Hill begins Chapter 1 of his famous book, Think and Grow Rich.

Everything starts with a single thought. You can decide to follow a path to destruction, to wander aimlessly, or to success as you define it. Your thought becomes a thing that determines your life's destiny.

Once you establish the goal, visualize it, and follow the path to its achievement, you have left the average person behind.

I recommend that anyone who seeks the successful completion of a goal should read Think and Grow Rich.

Just about every library has it, any book store can order it, or you can buy it online. You can buy a copy for under $20 or so.

I've put a free copy (in HTML format) in my library, and you are welcome to read it or download it to your computer (save it in HTML format on your drive). You can read it here:

http://johndilbeck.powerfulintentions.com/library/

I've read this book many times and I've given away many copies to friends and colleagues.

If you're serious, buy a copy so you can highlight the important parts and write notes in the margins.

Success is something that can be learned, and setting goals is one of the first steps.

All the best,

JD

A few days ago, I made the decision to move all my blogs powered by Blogger off their free storage at Blogspot.com.

Over the weekend, I was busy rethinking what I want to do with my blogs, how I want to power them, where I want them hosted, and how to syndicate them for maximum readership.

This post is to announce a new website I just created to help me with those aims, and, also, to create the new categories I'll be using here.

In subsequent postings, all will be posted to the home page, and some will also be posted to the appropriate category.

It will take another week or two to make things work as well as they were before Blogger started blocking my blogs.

Things happen, we make changes, time goes on.
