Working hard to catch up

The last couple of months have been very busy for me. I brought Mom home from the nursing home on February 23. She had been recovering from breaking a leg last December. That's why I haven't been blogging about discount coupons and happenings in Cherokee County, NC. I just didn't have the time or energy. Now that Mom's doing better and I've been getting a little sleep, I have been busy getting caught up with my online work. Murphy, NC Business has been completely rebuilt and the first part of the site is back online. There is still a lot of work to do with this site and it will be growing over the next month or so. 21st Century Small Business has been moved off of WebMax Studio, where it was a test site for me to learn all the features WebMax offered. Now, I've rebuilt it as an article site featuring over 1500 business articles. 21st Century Articles has grown from nothing to about 300 articles in less than a month. I've been posting new discount coupon offers on a regular basis to my blog at Syndicate Your Ad. Recently, I realized that the links to the free printable coupons were not active in the category archive listings. Yesterday, that item bubbled to the top of my priority list and I scanned through the code until I found the culprit. The theme I'm using for that site was showing only the excerpt of the message rather than the full content in the archives. Once I realized that, it took only a few minutes to find the proper WordPress call to show the full message, complete with an active link to the coupon. It's a small thing, and took about an hour to solve, but it makes it easier for you to click on the active link to the coupon. One of the reasons I wanted to solve this problem is because I've added quite a few new categories to the site, including all the states in the USA and all the provinces in Canada. Hopefully, this will make it easier for you to find offers that will be of interest to you as more businesses add more special offers. All new offers are listed by location, product or service type, expiration date, and possibly other categories. As a side benefit, I learned more about WordPress and how to get it to do what I want. A few days ago, I made the decision to move all my blogs powered by Blogger off their free storage at Blogspot.com. Over the weekend, I was busy rethinking what I want to do with my blogs, how I want to power them, where I want them hosted, and how to syndicate them for maximum readership. This post is to announce a new website I just created to help me with those aims, and, also, to create the new categories I'll be using here. In subsequent postings, all will be posted to the home page, and some will also be posted to the appropriate category. It will take another week or two to make things work as well as they were before Blogger started blocking my blogs. Things happen, we make changes, time goes on.
